The tram was put in service in 1992 on conventional gauge track with contemporary cars and trucks, connecting Sirkeci with Topkapi. The road was extended on a person conclude from Topkapi to Zeytinburnu in March 1994 and, on the opposite end from Sirkeci to Eminönü in April 1996. Currently, most metro stations don't have a staffed ticket booth
